Hello again! Sorry we've been so tight lipped...

When life gets busy, time for reflection and writing often falls behind.  Well, life has been quite full over the course of the last [couple of years!], but we want to get back into the discipline of sharing some of the stories here. We have so many customers with such wonderful stories, it would be a great loss to not share them with you.  Social media just doesn't quite touch the storytelling ability of short form prose.

To add to that, there is always something new going on in the shop, so some of those details will land here.

Because our machines are technically detailed, we field a lot of questions on a daily basis.  It is our aim to build our user-accessible content through the blog, so that you can do a simple google search and quickly find the answer to your Outrider-related question.

Above all, we hope to voice our gratitude for interacting with our business.  Ours is a labor of love, and we're truly blessed with each interaction with you.  Thank you for your support.

Hope you get to fly today,

Outrider USA

Meet the All-Terrain Nomad Outrider

noun: nomad; plural noun: nomads
  1. a member of a people having no permanent abode, and who travel from place to place to find fresh pasture for their livestock; a person who does not stay long in the same place; a wanderer.
  2. The best adventure you'll ever have on three-wheels.

Outrider designed the all-terrain Nomad to bridge the gap between road and off-road riding. Like many of us, the Nomad does not want to be limited to one type of terrain. With a top speed of 35 mph, you can feel comfortable keeping up with the flow of traffic during commutes, and with its unique gearing ratio for greater torque, you also have the freedom to venture off the beaten path whenever the opportunity arises.

If you want to see the Nomad in action, check out our video HERE

Take control of your adventure. Shoot us an email (info@outriderusa.com) or give us a call (828.654.7555) and let us help build your Nomad TODAY.

Experience the No Barriers Summit with Outrider

Be challenged. Be inspired. Be you.

As many of you know, the Outrider team sent a crew to Park City, Utah last month for the No Barriers Summit. We shared information about the Summit in our last blog post, so please refer to it if you want event specific details. Click here to read the post Outrider USA at No Barriers Summit 2015

The purpose of this post is to share our personal experiences at the Summit as well as the experiences of our incredible test riders. It is no secret that we attribute our current and continuing success on our ability to listen to our customers. It was practicing this skill that led to the conception of the Horizon in 2013 and is what continues to aid development as we move towards final production.

Since the Kickstarter campaign, all of us here at the shop and those who have pre-ordered the Horizon have been eager to see it come to life. Unfortunately, we were not thrilled with the performance of the Kickstarter prototype. Since we refuse to ever deliver a product that falls short of our standards, we went back to the drawing board. Post-Kickstarter prototyping has been an arduous, but essential process. Part of this process is getting people who would genuinely benefit from the Horizon actually test riding it and giving us feedback. There is no better place to find a community of courageous, passionate, and adventurous individuals to test out the Horizon than at the No Barriers Summit.

Here is Matt Godfrey's recap of the event:

I was eager to take part in the No Barriers Summit.  Collectively, we chose this summit because it was a great opportunity for Outrider USA to showcase the Horizon and collect valuable feedback on final design aspects.  Our reasons behind the development of the Horizon were both genuine and sincere.  However, as a start-up with finite resources, it is fair to say that most of our discussions revolved around ROI for the money, time and energy we would put towards attending a conference 2000 miles away.
Ultimately, we did receive a tremendous amount of positive feedback, we made connections with some key decision makers and placed ourselves on the radar of the adaptive community.  However, the most important and unexpected gem that we took from the summit, was a deeper purpose for our work and a deeper appreciation for relishing everything that life has to offer.  Some amazing and patient people taught us to see through the barriers that we all face in life and how to accept those challenges with confidence, humility and pure joy.
I was lucky to be part of an incredible team of people, crammed in a cargo van for 30 hours straight in each direction.  We learned a lot about each other.......I mean a lot!  That trip will forever bind us to a shared experience that was as rewarding for us as it was for the company and the lives we may impact because of our work.

Thank you to No Barriers, Canyons Resort, and all the participants and companies that helped make this such an incredible event.  The Outrider Team is already looking forward to what next year's Summit has in store!

We were fortunate enough to be able to bring along a full time videographer on the trip to capture our journey. To hear testimonials from our test riders and to see them tearing it up on the Horizon, please check out the videos we have posted on YouTube:

We hope you enjoy these videos and please check our YouTube page regularly for new content!

Outrider is still a bit new to the adaptive sports arena, and we would love any and all feedback, suggestions and recommendations of other events for us to attend.

As always, thank you to all our friends, family and followers for your unwavering support and encouragement. We could not do it without you all!

Why should you vote for Outrider? The transportation market is rapidly moving toward electric vehicles and electric cycles.  By 2017, it is predicted that there will be a million  plug in electric vehicles on the road in the USA.  What started as an idea among college friends, has developed into a small passionate company named Outrider USA.  Our vehicles can be pedaled like a normal bicycle if you want to keep active and healthy while commuting, or touring.  AND! They also provide the option to engage an electric motor if you need to get somewhere quickly and efficiently, or tackle that big mountain during your ride. In addition to holding industry records for speed, range and power. Outrider USA has also created an off-road electric cycle that can be adapted to suit people with various physical disabilities.

Did you know that 1.42 million miles or more than one-third of all road miles in the U.S. are still unpaved gravel or dirt roads?  Want to ride them all?  Well, there is a new way to explore the rugged backcountry where getting lost has never been more fun.

Announcing the new Horizon from Outrider USA!  For the Horizon, we designed a robust, independent front and rear air-shock suspension and paired it with our industry leading electric drive system. The base model has a range 30-50 miles per charge, and the option of adding up to 3 more modular battery packs for an astounding 120-200 miles. Taking it one step further, we developed a set of key adaptive components, offering a wider range of physical abilities a new way to ride the trails or quite possibly, the opportunity to ride again.

Accepting pre orders now!  Please call 828-654-7555 or email info@outriderusa.com to discuss details and secure your spot today.  Estimated production start is slated for late summer 2015.
