Outrider designed the all-terrain Nomad to bridge the gap between road and off-road riding. Like many of us, the Nomad does not want to be limited to one type of terrain. With a top speed of 35 mph, you can feel comfortable keeping up with the flow of traffic during commutes, and with its unique gearing ratio for greater torque, you also have the freedom to venture off the beaten path whenever the opportunity arises.
If you want to see the Nomad in action, check out our video HERE.
Take control of your adventure. Shoot us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or give us a call (828.654.7555) and let us help build your Nomad TODAY.
Be challenged. Be inspired. Be you.
As many of you know, the Outrider team sent a crew to Park City, Utah last month for the No Barriers Summit. We shared information about the Summit in our last blog post, so please refer to it if you want event specific details. Click here to read the post Outrider USA at No Barriers Summit 2015
The purpose of this post is to share our personal experiences at the Summit as well as the experiences of our incredible test riders. It is no secret that we attribute our current and continuing success on our ability to listen to our customers. It was practicing this skill that led to the conception of the Horizon in 2013 and is what continues to aid development as we move towards final production.
Since the Kickstarter campaign, all of us here at the shop and those who have pre-ordered the Horizon have been eager to see it come to life. Unfortunately, we were not thrilled with the performance of the Kickstarter prototype. Since we refuse to ever deliver a product that falls short of our standards, we went back to the drawing board. Post-Kickstarter prototyping has been an arduous, but essential process. Part of this process is getting people who would genuinely benefit from the Horizon actually test riding it and giving us feedback. There is no better place to find a community of courageous, passionate, and adventurous individuals to test out the Horizon than at the No Barriers Summit.
Here is Matt Godfrey's recap of the event:
Thank you to No Barriers, Canyons Resort, and all the participants and companies that helped make this such an incredible event. The Outrider Team is already looking forward to what next year's Summit has in store!
We were fortunate enough to be able to bring along a full time videographer on the trip to capture our journey. To hear testimonials from our test riders and to see them tearing it up on the Horizon, please check out the videos we have posted on YouTube:
We hope you enjoy these videos and please check our YouTube page regularly for new content!
Outrider is still a bit new to the adaptive sports arena, and we would love any and all feedback, suggestions and recommendations of other events for us to attend.
As always, thank you to all our friends, family and followers for your unwavering support and encouragement. We could not do it without you all!

Their mission is: “...to unleash the potential of the human spirit. Through transformative experiences, tools and inspiration, we help people embark on a quest to contribute their absolute best to the world. In the process, we foster a community of curious, brave and collaborative explorers who are determined to live the No Barriers Life.” The Summit occurs once a year and is an opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to come together for a long weekend filled with hands-on clinics, product demonstrations, outdoor excursions, films, art, keynote address, leadership exercises, symposia...and the Horizon!
This year, the No Barriers Summit will be held in Park City, UT at the Canyons Resort on July 9-12. The Summit will consist of dozens of educational, athletic, and artistic clinics such as rock climbing, kayaking, mountain and road biking, painting, and scuba diving. The goal of these clinics is to encourage individuals to try new things and to move outside of their comfort zone in a supportive and encouraging environment. The majority of the clinics will be run by adaptive sports centers, art organizations, and individuals who have many years of experience working with people with disabilities of all kinds. Some of these organizations include Adaptive Adventures, Adaptive Sports Center and the National Abilities Center. You can see a full list of the clinics here.
Additionally, there will be several presenters including six-time Olympic Gold Medalist Amy Van Dyken-Rouen, painter John Bramblitt, and jazz singer and songwriter Mandy Harvey, who will share inspiring stories of how they overcame adversity and physical limitations to achieve greatness. You can see a full list of the presenters and entertainers here.

Ride on,The Outrider Team
The time has come again for the Chase Mission Mainstreet Grants! Chase will be awarding $100,000 to 20 small businesses to help fund their next phase of growth. Outrider could be one of them, if you vote for us! In order to be considered for the grant, we need YOUR HELP! Before June 19th we need to have at least 250 votes.
Why should you vote for Outrider? The transportation market is rapidly moving toward electric vehicles and electric cycles. By 2017, it is predicted that there will be a million plug in electric vehicles on the road in the USA. What started as an idea among college friends, has developed into a small passionate company named Outrider USA. Our vehicles can be pedaled like a normal bicycle if you want to keep active and healthy while commuting, or touring. AND! They also provide the option to engage an electric motor if you need to get somewhere quickly and efficiently, or tackle that big mountain during your ride. In addition to holding industry records for speed, range and power. Outrider USA has also created an off-road electric cycle that can be adapted to suit people with various physical disabilities.
With the help of this grant, Outrider can continue to be on the forefront of innovation, design and education in the pedal electric vehicle industry. So please take 2 minutes out of your day to vote for Outrider and share this link with your facebook friends so we can blow the 250 minimum votes out of the park!

ALL-TERRAIN ➸ ADAPTABLE ➸ ADVENTURE ➸ FREEDOM
Did you know that 1.42 million miles or more than one-third of all road miles in the U.S. are still unpaved gravel or dirt roads? Want to ride them all? Well, there is a new way to explore the rugged backcountry where getting lost has never been more fun.
Announcing the new Horizon from Outrider USA! For the Horizon, we designed a robust, independent front and rear air-shock suspension and paired it with our industry leading electric drive system. The base model has a range 30-50 miles per charge, and the option of adding up to 3 more modular battery packs for an astounding 120-200 miles. Taking it one step further, we developed a set of key adaptive components, offering a wider range of physical abilities a new way to ride the trails or quite possibly, the opportunity to ride again.
Accepting pre orders now! Please call 828-654-7555 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss details and secure your spot today. Estimated production start is slated for late summer 2015.
